Living it up in Germany

OK, so I've got my Master's degree, and I've moved from New Zealand to Germany.

Here's some pictures of where I'm living:

It's a really nice place here, especially when it's sunny. It's very quiet, peaceful, and very green, with forest surrounding the houses, and grass as tall as a short person growing in the fields.

Most houses don't have fences either, or if they do, the fences are very minimal. Instead people have bushes and plants for their fences, making the community feel friendly and open.

There are some differences that you notice here and there, for instance windows open inwards, and you can open them two different ways - see pictures:

The standard bed is also just on the ground, and is contained in a little wooden box. I'm also not sure whether a king sized bed exists here - there are big beds, but basically they consist of putting two smaller ones together.

So this is what the south of Germany is like. It's hard to capture it on a camera, because the houses are so big, and the views are too wide. It really is like something out of a movie though. People in the neighbourhood know each other, and have most likely grown up here, or have grown up at least 50km away.
